I am not sure about you, but I’ve missed traveling over the last 5 months! My normal schedule usually includes at least 1-2 trips a month but normal was thrown out the window in March. Honestly, I have never been so excited to pull my luggage out and start packing for this trip.

Between the new safety protocols at the airport, on the plane, and at the resorts, I felt more comfortable traveling to Mexico than running errands (grocery store, post office, etc.) at home right now.

I am happy to report that Cancun is open for business and the employees are so happy to see us arrive!

It felt so good to be in my “home away from home” aka Mexico! I spent 2 nights with this gorgeous view and I want to share more information about this resort that is perfect for honeymoons and destination weddings!

In July, I traveled to Hyatt Zilara in Cancun, Mexico. It was a wonderful place to begin my first trip during the pandemic– and I think you’re going to love it as much as I did. ***All photos are from my stay July 28-30, 2020. (No filters necessary or applied!!)***

I have visited Hyatt Zilara Cancun several times in the past, but this was my first time staying overnight. I chose this resort because I am planning a Destination Wedding for one of my happy couples this fall, October 2020 to be exact. I felt it was important to stay on property and share my experience with the wonderful couple and their guests.

Honestly, I’ve been obsessed with this property for years because of the location and spectacular views from every single room.

Before I babble on too long, let’s get to my FIVE favorite things about Hyatt Zilara Cancun.

#1 – Hammocks on the Balcony

I think the picture says it all…

#2 – Magic Box

When you order room service, you can request that it is delivered to your “Magic Box” by the front door. The waiter can access the box from the outside and when they are finished, they flip a switch which illuminates a small light above the box inside your room. Then, you open the door and “magically” your food has appeared. This feature is great for times when you don’t want to open the door like when you are getting out of the shower or enjoying late night room service. The other bonus is when you finish eating, just place the dishes back in the box and they magically disappear.

#3 – In Room Tablet

This tablet has everything you need while visiting Hyatt Zilara Cancun. You can see the weather, order room service, make spa reservations, check the daily schedule, and even look over dinner menus. An extra bonus is the USB charging ports for your cell phones!

#4 – Number of Poolside Cabanas

While I was at Hyatt Zilara Cancun, the resorts in the area were operating at 30% occupancy. This meant fewer guests but even at full occupancy, there should never be an issue finding a pool chair or cabana. There are fantastic views from practically every seat and spot for everyone’s travel style (quiet and subdued or high-energy). **BONUS** If you are staying in a Corner Luxury room, Swim Up, or the Presidential Suite, you have a cabana on the beach reserved daily just for you!

#5 –Caribbean Blue Water Views

I’ve mentioned the gorgeous views several times that every room is ocean facing. This means every room opens up to the blue water views. If you like relaxing in your own pool space (or taking a late night swim), I would recommend the swim up rooms located on the 1st floor. If you want to roll over in bed and stare out at the ocean, I would recommend an Ocean Front Suite. There is something for everyone at Hyatt Zilara Cancun. #nofilter

#6 (because I just couldn’t narrow it down to 5!!) – Service from the Heart

Hyatt Zilara Cancun is part of Playa Hotels & Resorts and their motto is “Service from the Heart”. While staying at Hyatt Zilara, you will see the staff members place a hand over their heart with a smile or small head bow. They will do this when you request a drink, pass a member in the hall, or say “Gracias” (thank you) when your entrée is delivered. This is the staff’s way of silently saying “my pleasure” and reminding guests that fantastic service can always be expected.

If you follow me, you know I just love to travel.

But it’s also important to me as a top-tier travel advisor to be able to recommend places that I have personally experienced. I can create extraordinary experiences for you because I know the unique features of each place and can anticipate how a resort will align with just what you’re looking for.

Hyatt Zilara offers beautiful ocean views, a great location, and amazing service — and I know you’re going to want to try it out for yourself. Check out my tour of the Ocean Front Junior Suite King!

You may not be ready quite yet to start planning, but when you are ready to think about your next trip, I am here. Use my expertise and services to make your first vacation after lock-down amazing!

Stay tuned for details on the next resort I visited on this trip!
